The competition consists of dog and handler teams who first throw a ball or decoy into the pool while keeping the dogs heeled and under control. At point of release by the handler, it's a mad dash down a 45-foot ramp to leap to the best of its ability and retrieve the object. Each dog is measured on the distance they go before hitting the water. Whether a new record is set or not, it's unbelievable to watch these dogs soar through the air before hitting the water and creating a huge splash. Stand back, because they often soak the crowd!
